SAHARA CAMEL TREKKING FROM M'HAMID IN 6 DAYS ITINERARY

DAY 1

Transfer from Marrakech, Ouarzazate or Agadir to M'hamid by 4 x4.

DAY 2

After breakfast, we start the camel ride through the old kasbah of the palm grove. En route we take a break for lunch in the shade of tamarix. After a short siesta, we start walking to join Sidi Naji, where is the tomb of an old Marabout, which became a famous place of pilgrimage for the nomads. Bivouac around a fire, with traditional music played by your guide and the camel drivers. You'll learn to make the typical desert sandbread.

DAY 3

We leave toward Bousninareg, stopping en route for lunch in a pleasant place. The landscape changes every 2 hours. We arrive to the great dunes of Zahar, where we can see the Algerian border. We will admire the sunset and the splendid panoramic view of the dunes. Diner under the stars and night at the bivouac.

DAY 4

We cross the Drâa valley and have lunch next to a well enjoying the coolness. After lunch and rest, we continue to desert camp Erg Smar where we spend the night.

DAY 5

 After crossing Erg Sidra, we continue to the wonderful dunes Erg Chegaga. We climb to the top of the big dune Abidia to admire the infinite sand sea. Diner and night between the Erg Chegaga dunes.

DAY 6

Early wake up to admire our last sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, we leave by 4x4 to Foum Zguid, crossing the beautiful Iriki lake and its desert plateau where we'll stop to see fossils and we'll cross nomadic tents on our way. Lunch en route and back to Marrakech, Ouarzazate or Agadir.
