DESERT TOUR FROM AGADIR TO ERG CHEGAGA IN 5 DAYS ITINERARY

DAY 1

Departure from your accommodation in Agadir at 8 am to Ouarzazate (about 380 km) trough Taroudant city including medina, souks, walls, Palace Salam before taking lunch in Tiout (small and beautiful village about near Taroudant). Then we will go to Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO World Heritage since 1987) to visit the ksar before spending the night in Ouarzazate.

DAY 2

Departure after breakfast from Ouarzazate to Tinghir (about 250 km). Through this trip we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. Then we will take the road to El Kalaa M'Gouna (Valley of Roses), to visit the Kasbah Amridil (part of Skoura oasis Palm). Then we take you to Dades Valley (1000 kasbahs road) before arriving to Boumalne Dades for lunch in the heart of the famous Dades gorges. In the afternoon we will continue our trip to Tinghir to spend the night.

DAY 3

Departure from Tinghir to Zagora (about 270  km) after breakfast, en route we will visit the Todra Gorge and we continue to Alnif (town in Tinghir Province and famous hotspot for fossil hunters from around the world) and  we are taking the trail. After lunch we will continue to Tansikht to cross the remarkable valley of Drâa (the largest palm grove in the world). We spend the night in Zagora.

DAY 4

Departure in the morning from Zagora to M'Hamid – Erg Chegaga (150 km) across the village of Tamegroute where we visit a green handicraft pottery factory, an underground kasbah, and a Koranic library. Then we will continue to Tinfou dunes also called “golden sand” before arriving at a small town int the south of the rally Paris Dakar trajectory. Lunch at M'Hamid El Ghizlane. After 60 km on a track by 4×4 we will reach a bivouac located in the heart of the dunes of Erg Chegaga to admire the famous sunset on one of the most beautiful dunes in Morocco. Night in a bivouac in a nomadic tent under the stars.

DAY 5

Departure early from Chegaga to Foum Zguid and Agadir (410 km) after admiring the sunrise and appreciating the immensity and serenity that desert bring us. Then we take the trail across the beautiful lake Iriki region to join Foum Zguid and Agadir.
