DESERT TRIP FROM MARRAKECH IN 5 DAYS ITINERARY

DAY 1

Marrakech – Telouet – Ouarzazate. Distance : 200 km.
After breakfast, we leave by 4x4 to Telouet crossing the high Atlas mountains and theTizin’Tichka’pass (altitude 2260 m) and visiting the Pacha Glaoui’s kasbah in Telouet where we willhave lunch. In the afternoon, we continue to the Ounila valley, crossing berberian villages to Ait BenHaddou and to Ouarzazate, where we dine an spend the night at the hôtel.

DAY 2

Ouarzazate – Agdz – Drâa valley – Zagora. Distance : 160 km.
Departure after breakfast to the kasbah of Stork and its sentational panoramic view. Continuing toAgdz wehre we will have a break and then to Tizi -n-Tinififft (altitude 2660 m). We take the sand trackto the Kasbah Alkaid Ali of Tamnougalte where we will have lunch in a charming restaurant. In theafternoon, we continue our road to Zagora, crossing the Drâa Valley and it many palm trees andtypical villages (ksours). We dine and spend the night in Zagora.

DAY 3

Zagora- Tamegroute – Chegaga.Distance 150 km.
After breakfast, we take the road to Tamegroute where we will visit Zaouïa and the old koraniclibrary, the pottery artisans et the soutterain of a kasbah. We leave in direction of M’Hamid wherewe will have lunch. In the afternoon, we take a sand track to the beautiful sand dunes of Chegaga.From there, we leave on camel for a ride and admire the sunset. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac inthe middle of the dunes under twinkling stars.

DAY 4

Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Ouarzazate – camel trekking. Distance 300 km.
Early wake up. We leave to admire the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we leave for FoumZguid. We visit nomadic families who still live in a traditional way. We cross the dry lake Iriki and wecontinue our journey on the desert plateau and it acacia trees. Picnic en route, then we continue ourroad to Ouarzazate via Taznakht. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

DAY 5

Ouarzazate – Marrakech. Distance 200 km.
After breakfast we visit the city of Ouarzazate, the Taourirt kasbah, and the movies studios Atlaswhere many movies such as « Gladiator » or « Game of thrones » have been shot. Then we take theroad back via Tizin’Tichka for Marrakech, where our trip ends.
